B2B Tips for LinkedIn

B2B Tips for LinkedIn

When it comes to boosting business for B2B organisations, LinkedIn is where it’s at. As of 2021, this social media platform for professionals boasts over 722 million users. Further to this, over 55 million companies have also signed up to take full advantage of its many features. According to research, an estimated 96% of B2B content marketers choose LinkedIn for organic social media marketing, and 80% of them use it for paid advertising.

If you own a B2B company and are relatively new to the world of LinkedIn and social media marketing in general, HashTag Marketing’s marketing coordinator, Nicole De Vos, has a few tips to share with you and your team to help you make a success of your LinkedIn marketing going forward.

  • Optimise your LinkedIn profile by uploading photos, including details of key employees, using relevant keywords, etc.
  • Take advantage of all available interactive capabilities. This includes status updates, publishing your own thought-leadership articles, and uploading presentations and videos.
  • Place a call-to-action on your company page, along with a link to your website, to generate more leads. Ideally, you should place it in your recent updates section or in your company description.
  • Engage with different types of audiences. Don’t focus your efforts exclusively on targeting decision-makers. You should dedicate time and effort to grabbing the attention of various influencers, too. Influencers include any individual who may have an impact on decision-makers’ eventual decisions regarding B2B suppliers, such as end users, senior executives, and key players within procurement teams.
  • Know how to differentiate between your audiences. You can categorise them by looking at various factors, such as industry, the size of the company in question, authority, function, and seniority. This will allow for improved targeting and more relevant messaging, which will ultimately work to maximise lead generation.
  • Embrace the power of showcase pages. Showcase pages are the perfect tools for promoting separate brands that may form extensions of your establishment. You can create one or more showcase pages via your LinkedIn company profile, and then use it/them to target a single customer segment, providing educational and inspirational information that is 100% relevant to their needs and professional ‘pain points’.
  • Make use of LinkedIn community features, namely influencers and groups. LinkedIn influencers allows you to connect with thought leaders within your industry. These thought leaders offer incredible insights into industry trends and advancements, thus helping you to stay ahead of the curve. Also be sure to join applicable groups where you can also solidify yourself and your company as an authoritative presence within your industry by sharing opinions and actively engaging with other members.
